Colton Henderson, MSN, RN Founder My name is Colton Henderson, and I'm a nurse by trade.
I spent years at the bedside in the emergency department, caring for people at every stage of life — from the very beginning to the very end. That kind of work gives you a front-row seat to reality. One of the clearest patterns I saw was how much more vulnerable people become as they age. There are countless reasons for that, and we don't need to unpack them all here — but the vulnerability is real, and it's growing.
Eventually, I stepped away from direct patient care and followed what I'll openly admit is my nerdy self-interest: technology. That path led me into healthcare SaaS, where I learned how to build systems, organize complex ideas, and turn concepts into real, usable solutions. What surprised me most was how often healthcare struggles not because people don't care — but because the systems around them are fragmented, reactive, or outdated.
At the same time, I was watching my own family age.
I've been incredibly fortunate that my grandfather is still active and independent — an exception to the average, and one I don't take for granted. But I've also watched my other three grandparents slowly lose abilities over time. Two were able to remain at home until they passed. One eventually needed to move into a structured facility.
Despite their different paths, the same theme existed for
all of them:
When no one was physically there, the family worried.
Are they okay?
Is today a normal day?
Did something change that we don't know about yet?
That anxiety — shared by millions of families — was always present.
StillWell Health exists to help answer those questions.
With my healthcare background, I'll say this plainly: remote health monitoring and environmental monitoring are not a "nice-to-have." They are the future. Honestly, I'm probably a few years late in making that prediction — it's been coming for a long time. Over the next five years, these technologies will become the norm as we push for solutions that allow seniors to remain independent, dignified, and in the homes they love.
